I don’t just want to survive in this lifetime, I want to THRIVE!!
Part of living our best life means taking care of our health and sometimes we need to dig a little deeper to see if everything is all g below the surface.
We all have things like lumps, bumps and sore spots so this week we are focusing on prioritising our health and booking in to get our bodies checked thoroughly.
I know going to the doctors can be scary, and it’s so easy to put off going for such a long time. I know I’m personally guilty of this. But you must remember,
it's easier to prevent a health issue than to cure it once it's developed.
By going to your doctor appointments, you can catch any potential problems before they become more serious. IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS! (in some cases it is, but not this one lmao)
We recently booked ourselves in for a Skin Cancer check and here are our thoughts on it: Overall it was a good experience, but some things to consider are…. It is pricey (but they do have afterpay options), you’ll likely have to book a month in advance and travel to a specific clinic BUT totally worth it in our opinion. The specialist will assess your body from head to toe and make sure all of your birth marks, skin tags and moles are safe! Apparently if you have over 100 moles you are considered ‘high risk’ and should be screened regularly.
They say to book annually, however since Alessia and I are low risk at the moment, this might be something we do every 2-3 years as a check up. We highly recommend getting it done and also checking yourself and your partner's body regularly to see if anything sinister pops up.
Here is a guide they give you to look out for the following:

It’s important to remember that skin cancer is extremely fast moving and sometimes can come up in spots hard to see (e.g. under the finger nail, under your toe, behind your ear) so regular check ups are crucial!
You guys know that I recently pulled my neck out and found myself in a fair bit of pain. I’ve been seeing a mixture of myotherapists and osteo therapists to help prevent doing the same thing again. Here are my thoughts on it all:
I’ve enjoyed seeing the osteo therapist more than the myo. This is because I think my osteo has a little more knowledge on what’s happening with my body and is able to communicate clearly enough to educate me.
Regular appointments would be life changing. I feel like even if I went once a month just to maintain softening the muscles it would help so much.
Stretching is way more important than I originally thought!
I personally am lucky enough to have private health care which takes about $30 dollars off each of my visits, so currently it’s not too expensive to attend once a month. I think my last appointment ended up being about $58? Which is actually worth every cent considering how much it’s loosened my shoulders.
I’d recommend the osteo for anyone who is experiencing soreness or pain in their bodies and want to get a bit of relief. Especially if you’re too scared of a chiropractor, osteos are much more gentle!
Here is your reminder to book in for a:
General blood test
Cervical cancer screening
Breast cancer screening
Skin cancer screening
Physio / Osteo appointments
Eye Checkups
Dentist appointments
I don’t know about you guys, but when I feel like something isn’t right it plays on my mind until I know or have been reassured that I’m okay. Regular doctor appointments and skin cancer checks can provide you with that peace of mind. Knowing that you are taking the necessary steps to maintain your health can alleviate so much anxiety and stress! Don’t carry that with you!!!
So team, this week we’re sending you good health, love and the confidence to book and attend your check ups! Go on, make that appointment now and comment below once it’s in your calendar.
Well reading my mind again 💎✨ I have had multiple scans last month so yes I am finally deciding to do something about my adomenal pains😄
