Hey, team, I'm so excited for this weekly reminder because we're going to be talking about one of my favorite topics, which is technology and artificial intelligence. I'm really encouraging everyone who watches this today to pay attention to the A.I. that's starting to come out into our everyday apps. There are heaps of companies like Snapchat and Canva who are really embracing technology and putting AI into their platforms to help the users us get a more enjoyable experience out of it or help speed things up when we're trying to produce work.

I feel like if you're new to this space, it can be quite overwhelming to think about AI, which is artificial intelligence, by the way. But I'm here to tell you it's not as complicated as it sounds. AI is literally built to make our life easier. AI takes all the data that we have and all the learnings that gains from people using the platform and then simplifies our workload sometimes in just a click of a button.

01:15:52:11 - 01:16:09:02

There are some really interesting ways I can be used in the future that we will see in maybe ten years, but in today's Weekly Reminder I want to focus on what's coming up in the short term. A platform has recently come out and broke. The internet is called Chat GTP. I had to say slow because I kept stuffing that up.

01:16:09:05 - 01:16:27:05

Speaker 1

And if you've never used it before, you basically write in some prompts. So if I wanted to write a newsletter or a blog or an essay on how to get better sleep, I can write that prompt into the computer and it will generate a result for me, which is the essay or the blog post or the newsletter, all in the click of a button.

01:16:27:07 - 01:16:49:20

Speaker 1

It basically searches the Internet for all this information and then puts it together to generate your result. But the great thing about it is it's not copywriting anyone's work. It's creating original work every time. Some AI’s are pretty advanced and can even seem like they're thinking for themself. And that's because that's what differentiates AI to just coding and what we usually use to when we play video games.

01:16:49:20 - 01:17:17:13

Speaker 1

For example, we talk to characters and they talk back with what they've been programed to say. But with AI, we eventually can play the same video game but have entirely different conversations with characters based on what we write in. The reason I want you to pay attention to this is because I can help you streamline your life. You might not have a reason to play with AI technology right now, but that's why I'm encouraging you to go and look for new ways to test this tech.

01:17:17:13 - 01:17:38:05

Speaker 1

Because in the next three years you might have to use it at your job. I want you to feel comfortable and confident using this, and it's going to take some practice. You do not need to be a computer coder or data scientist. You literally just need to know how to work with prompts. This is a new skill that we will all have to learn to get better at working with AI.

01:17:38:06 - 01:18:05:09

Speaker 1

And before you freak out, AI isn't going to take any jobs. It's just going to help us get things done. For all the admin work we do in a job. This will alleviate that pressure and help us to be more creative and for people in creative roles. This will be actually very exciting. For example, if I wanted to use AI to help with social media and content creation, I could ask ChatGTP to produce a list of 100 creative ideas that I could video for TikTok.

01:18:05:09 - 01:18:22:18

Speaker 1

I could be more specific in my prompts and ask for ‘viral’ TikTok ideas that have previously done well on YouTube videos. The AI will be able to generate a list for me like that and then I'll have to scan through and pick the ideas that I like best. I'm going to leave a lot of info for you in the blog, so make sure you go and read that.

01:18:23:00 - 01:18:38:13

Speaker 1

I'm also going to put some videos in there so you can see this technology working and coming to life. It is kind of freaky in some cases, but I'm excited for it and I think it has plenty of good use cases. This is a topic I could talk about all day, every day, so I'm sure I'll do another weekly reminder on it.

01:18:38:17 - 01:18:50:12

Speaker 1

But I just wanted to put it on your radar that AI is coming and I want you guys to be prepared for it. Okay, team, that's all for today. So make sure you comment in the blog if you have any questions, and we'll speak to you next week. Bye.

Artificial Intelligence is coming- actually no. It’s here!

And now it’s time you get comfortable using the tech that will increase your productivity, allow you to be more creative and even keep you company in some cases too!

If you have never heard of AI before here is a simple definition:

AI, or artificial intelligence, is a type of computer technology that allows machines to do things that would normally require human intelligence. It's like giving a computer the ability to think, learn, and make decisions, similar to how humans do. Depending on the application it can do things such as interpreting speech, playing games and identifying patterns.

All I want you to do this week is play with AI! Trust me, it’s gonna be fun.

Here’s a video of me exploring how you can play with each type of platform.

Here is a list of some AI tech I’ve used before:

  • Big Room to convert horizontal videos into vertical videos that tracks the main speaker

  • Jasper AI (similar to ChatGPT) to help me generate interesting headlines for a newsletter

  • Replika to chat about random stuff

  • Runway to create images (using just text) that I can use for thumbnails

  • Adobe’s AI assistant to instantly remove a background from an image

  • Canva’s AI assistant to remove background from a video

If you are still unsure what to test out…. start with Chat GPT which deals with language processing. You can write in a prompt and Chat GPT will write back to you with the information you requested. It’s like having a personal assistant… except they know EVERYTHING.

Well, kinda.

AI can still be bias and spit out incorrect information so make sure you are always fact checking when using this stuff!

Whatever you do, have fun with it and let me know what you end up creating in the comments!
