Hey, team.

00:00:01:02 - 00:00:04:26

This week, I'm going to be reminding you

to wear your sunscreen.

00:00:04:35 - 00:00:08:26

We all know how important it is here

in Australia, and if you don't know,

00:00:08:32 - 00:00:11:15

then you have to know

and I encourage you to keep watching.

00:00:11:17 - 00:00:16:02

Firstly, I just want to start off with

if you have a skincare routine, go you

00:00:16:14 - 00:00:18:49

if your skincare routine

doesn't include sunscreen in it,

00:00:19:10 - 00:00:20:42

you might as well check everything out.

00:00:20:42 - 00:00:23:32

Sunscreen

not only protects you from the damaging UV

00:00:23:38 - 00:00:26:41

rays that can cause aging and also skin

cancer.

00:00:27:01 - 00:00:30:27

It's also the best anti-aging skincare

that you can invest in.

00:00:30:40 - 00:00:35:02

A really good example of

this is our paper little fighter here is

00:00:35:09 - 00:00:38:48

this guy used to be a truck driver

and the sun used to blare in

00:00:38:48 - 00:00:42:33

on, I think like like maybe his left side

or something like that.

00:00:42:42 - 00:00:46:23

And you can see on half of his face

where the sun damage has occurred

00:00:46:35 - 00:00:48:04

and where it hasn't.

00:00:48:04 - 00:00:51:21

There's another example of a lady

who use sunscreen

00:00:51:21 - 00:00:54:33

on her entire face, but she didn't

bring the sunscreen down her neck.

00:00:54:46 - 00:00:56:27

And this is her here.

00:00:56:27 - 00:00:59:11

And you can clearly see

there's a huge difference

00:00:59:17 - 00:01:02:32

between where she has put the sunscreen

and where she has the sunspots.

00:01:02:32 - 00:01:06:04

An aging obviously occurs

when we do get sun damage.

00:01:06:16 - 00:01:11:08

However, our skin cancer is another thing

that we need to be looking out for.

00:01:11:08 - 00:01:13:47

It can creep up on us at any time.

00:01:14:21 - 00:01:17:02

So I really encourage

you to always be wearing SPF,

00:01:17:11 - 00:01:19:29

whether it's sunny out,

whether it's overcast.

00:01:19:35 - 00:01:23:00

If you put it into your morning routine,

you're never going to forget it.

00:01:23:01 - 00:01:27:21

The best way to apply

sunscreen is to get about, I would say

00:01:27:21 - 00:01:28:31

like a ten cent piece.

00:01:28:31 - 00:01:31:19

Sorry, this one's running out,

so give me a second.

00:01:31:19 - 00:01:33:10

So get about a ten cent piece size.

00:01:33:10 - 00:01:35:36

That looks like a lot,

but it's thinned out on my hand.

00:01:36:12 - 00:01:39:24

And then you're going to want to rub it

all over.

00:01:39:24 - 00:01:43:16

Remember to bring it down your neck

and over your ears.

00:01:43:16 - 00:01:45:19

Never forget your ears.

00:01:45:19 - 00:01:48:33

I like to sort of massage up as well

because it's kind of like

00:01:49:37 - 00:01:51:40

an anti-gravity massage.

00:01:51:40 - 00:01:52:43

Don't forget your eyelids.

00:01:52:43 - 00:01:57:03

So I just like to grab the excess

that's like around my eyes

00:01:57:03 - 00:02:00:34

and put it on my eyelids,

because otherwise it stings.

00:02:01:04 - 00:02:02:08

Summer's coming up.

00:02:02:08 - 00:02:04:22

It's going to be hot.

The sun's going to be blaring.

00:02:04:22 - 00:02:06:39

There will be a little bit of rain

that's going to trick you as well.

00:02:06:39 - 00:02:08:45

But you still need

to be wearing your sunscreen.

00:02:08:45 - 00:02:10:48

I highly encourage you

to head to the shops.

00:02:11:27 - 00:02:14:27

I've listed some of the sunscreen

recommendations for face

00:02:14:27 - 00:02:18:19

and body down

below in the captions last fire.

00:02:18:33 - 00:02:22:02

And so I definitely recommend

you check them out, find what suits

00:02:22:02 - 00:02:25:47

you and start religiously applying

that sunscreen if you're not already

00:02:25:47 - 00:02:29:15

stays on safe team and have the best

week ever, we'll talk soon.

We all know how passionate I am about skincare. I absolutely love the feeling of my morning and nightly routine, it’s calming me, time that I get to enjoy daily. Something that I feel even MORE passionate about is SUN CARE! Firstly, if you are not using an SPF do not bother to use skincare. Sunscreen not only protects you from the extremely damaging, cancer causing UV rays, it also is the best anti ageing skincare you can invest in.

Surprisingly, this winter we’ve still managed to get some warmer and sunnier days here in Melbourne, and whilst you should be wearing sunscreen during overcast wintery days summertime is quickly approaching! This means lots of time outside enjoying the sun and warm weather AS YOU SHOULD! So make sure to wear sunscreen every day, whether you’re going to be out all day or just for a few hours! And don’t forget to reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating. Protecting your skin now will pay off later in life.

Here’s my Top recommendations for face and body sunscreens:

FACE:

  1. Mecca To Save A Face Sunscreen SPF 50+

  2. Ultra Violet Queen Screen SPF 50+ Sun Serum

  3. Cancer Council SPF 50+ (layered timely cos it’s a lil thick)

BODY:

  1. Mecca To Save A Body Sunscreen SPF50+

  2. Cancer Council Sunscreen SPF 50+

Also to top up, I believe a nice lil spray on sunscreen would do the trick! I am looking in to this for Summer, I personally haven’t tried any yet, but I’m seeing this come up more often and I am down to give it a go! If you’ve tried it let me know in the comments!

My father tried to use sunscreen when he could remember to ! and he used work out in the sun all day 24-7, and unfortunately for him before I was born he had a melanoma skin cancer surgically removed but later on in life it came back and as per some health issues and the melanoma coming back he did unfortunately pass away in 2010 🥲
